Channing Tatum‘s planned “Gambit” movie is still in the cards, according to the film’s writer and producer Simon Kinberg. Gambit is looking to start filming in spring 2017. “Gambit” was originally supposed to be released in the fall of 2016, but Twentieth Century Fox bumped it from the schedule back in February. We don’t have a new release date.
“We have a great script on that and hope to shoot that movie at the beginning or spring of next year,” Kinberg told.
Gambit is a fan favorite in the Marvel Universe. Gambit, whose real name is Remy LeBeau, is a reformed thief who joined up with the X-Men. He is known for his Cajun drawl and smooth-talking way with women. His mutant ability allows to him charge objects with kinetic energy, thus making them explode on contact. His trademark weapon is a deck of playing cards, which he can throw with deadly accuracy.
